What's the buzz?
2014 Annual Conference
United Methodists from across Minnesota gathered in St. Cloud from May 28-30 to worship and enjoy fellowship; receive reports, adopt goals and programs; determine budgets; take stands on key issues; ordain clergy; and receive the bishop's appointments of ordained ministers.

Imagine No Malaria
As of the 2014 Minnesota Annual Conference session (May 28-30), Minnesota United Methodists had donated more than $2.7 million to Imagine No Malaria, a denominational effort to eliminate malaria in sub-Saharan Africa. This includes an anonymous gift of $600,000.
That amount translates to 270,000 lives saved. The Minnesota Conference has raised more than any other annual conference to date and far exceeded its initial $1.8 million goal. Just a few years ago, malaria claimed a life every 30 seconds. That rate has been cut in half, thanks in part to the generous support of the state’s United Methodist churches.
During a worship service at the 2014 conference session, attendees celebrated the Imagine No Malaria accomplishment. Click here to read a story.
Churches that pledged should continue to remit funds to fulfill those pledges.
Reach • Renew • Rejoice
Late May marked the formal launch of a conference-wide congregational development initiative to start new churches and grow existing churches. Through this initiative—which requires our prayers and generosity—each year for the next seven years, the Minnesota Conference will start one new church, assist 20 churches in revitalizing their ministries, and partner with a vital parent church to multiply its ministry beyond its current site. This initiative aims to raise $3.7 million over the next few years. More than $1 million has been pledged to date, and Metro West Builders gave a $200,000 lead gift.
